This is the service organization closest to many residents’ hearts. The Snohomish Food Bank needs resources in the form of volunteers, non perishable food, and donations. The needs have been constant and now are growing.

All of these organizations need help in walking, cleaning, caring for, and socializing pets. It is notable that pets slated for euthanasia in other parts of the country frequently arrive here to be rehomed. Private pilots bring them, returning vacationers bring them, sometimes major disasters call for major evacuations of pets.
these organizations are careful to do personnel checks, but if you love animals and can help, don’t let a little personal questioning deter you. Querying By their organization name will get you their site.
There are two organizations that work to house populations in need.
Habitat for Humanity, Snohomish County. This is Jimmy Carter’s organization, fifty or so years old, and with completed houses all over the world.

Housing Hope is Snohomish based, and provides comprehensive end-to-end services for homeless families, homeless mothers and homeless teens. They are the signature service provider in Snohomish, limited only by the amount of resources they can raise, and community support they can garner.
Query Housing Hope.
The Senior Center and Fabulously Frugal are linked. The thrift store being a revenue producer for the other. Both accept volunteer help. And don’t let the Senior in Snohomish Senior Center put you off. To be a senior for the center you only need to be 50.
Fabulously Frugal can be found on the Senior Center website or on Facebook and Instagram. Both make good use of volunteers.
You can be your own volunteer organization. You would be following and broadening a trail already blazed in ways you may have noticed. Some examples:
if you have been on the River Trail, you may have noticed the Snohomish mural on Todo’s? Painted by a Different Path. The bench at St. John’s Episcopal Church? Donated by a Different Path. Www.adifferentpath.us
Benches along the many trails? If it has a plaque, it was donated.
The generally tidy appearance of the city? Thank one of the serious walkers in town who leave home with a plastic bag, plastic gloves and tongs, and pick up garbage.
